1) Choose the right village

2) Pick the right time

Similarly to other destinations, choosing the right to head to Ile de Ré is crucial. Located in the West of France, Ile de Ré does not have the climate of the Algarve or Greece. The summer months June, July, August and September are the busiest months of the year in Ile de Ré but also the most pleasant. In July and August, travellers can be assured that they will come across half of Paris but the atmosphere remains chic and tranquil. In those 2 months, temperatures can vary from 18 to 25 degrees, with an average sea temperature of 20 degrees. June and September are sometimes said to be the optimal months to visit the island as it is a little bit quieter and the weather is still pleasant.

3) Plan an itinerary

Though the atmosphere on Ile de Ré is rather relaxed and laid-back, it can be beneficial to have an itinerary especially if it is your first visit on the island.
