Considered as one of the most beautiful islands in France, Ile de Ré charms and fascinates travellers with its wild and preserved landscapes. A warm people, delicious culinary specialities, a very well preserved cultural and natural heritage, are the reasons why it is so popular. However, Ile de Ré is also 100 km of coastline relatively unaltered by human hands, sheltering some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. You will find most of the large expanses of sand on the south coast of the island while in the north, there are more ports.

Staying in Ré la Blanche is therefore an opportunity to discover these wonderful wild beaches of fine sand and to enjoy many outdoor activities. Activities that will please and entertain the whole family! Stroll along the waterfront, water sports, sand castle, idleness session or fishing on foot, there is something for everyone! Our team has gathered for you the most beautiful beaches on the lovely Île de Ré!

La Trousse-Chemise beach

La Trousse-Chemise beach

La Trousse-Chemise beach is located at the western tip of the island, in the commune of Portes-en-Ré. Wild and authentic, this beach will certainly please the whole family. On the edge you will find a large forest with the same name. The famous French singer Charles Aznavour has dedicated one of his songs to this little haven of nature and serenity.

Take advantage of the opportunity to have a superb picnic before cooling off during a swim in the waters of the Rétaise. Don't miss out on a walk on the sandbar "du bûcheron" during low tide, a very pleasant and relaxing walk where the sea breeze will do you good.

Grenettes Beach

Grenettes Beach

The beach of Les Grenettes is a spot very popular with thrill-seekers and lovers of all kinds of water sports, especially surfing. Located in Sainte-Marie-de-Ré in the south-east of the island, the beach is bordered by a forested and rather calm environment. Surfers will be delighted as beautiful waves await them. Despite a somewhat rough sea, Grenettes beach is also very suitable for families. You can enjoy the sun during a tanning session, go fishing or fly your kite in the air. Families, groups of friends or sportsmen, everyone will find something to do!

La Conche Beach

La Conche Beach

Considered as the most beautiful beach of Ré la Blanche, the beach of La Conche is also a real must on the island. Stretching from the famous whale lighthouse in Saint-Clément-des-Baleines to the tip of Lizay in Les Portes-en-Ré over a length of nearly 3km, this beautiful beach is definitely the largest on the island. The site is therefore ideal for walking while enjoying the sun and the sea breeze. The Conche is bordered by dunes and the Lizay forest which allows it to keep a wild and authentic feel. You can easily access the beach from the cycle paths through the forest and dunes.

A multitude of activities can be practiced on the beach of La Conche. You can swim in its clear waters, try your hand at bodyboarding, windsurfing or even try the ascent of the lighthouse of Les Baleines to have a breathtaking view of the Conche.

Gros Joncs Beach

Gros Joncs Beach

Gros Joncs beach is located in the southern part of the island, in the commune of Blois-Plage-en-Ré. This large expanse of fine sand is the busiest in the village because of its rather peaceful waters and the many activities it offers. The beach is particularly popular with families because it is safe and has a children's club nearby and a sailing club where you can learn windsurfing, kayaking, surfing and paddle.

Another important point is that Gros Joncs beach is labelled "Blue Flag". In other words, it is environmentally friendly, the water is of good quality and the premises are very clean. A beach that is therefore ideal for families with young children and where you can find many restaurants, bars, toilets and showers for guaranteed comfort.

La Grange Beach

La Grange Beach

Located south of Ars-en-Ré, near the tip of Grignon, la Grange beach is a true preserved natural area. Here is another spot appreciated by surf lovers for its beautiful waves and pleasant atmosphere. However, swimming is only possible at high tide because during low tide, the sea retreats so far away that it is almost impossible to access it because of the many rocks. However, a very popular activity here is fishing on foot. During low tide, you will have the opportunity to take a hand on the kilometres of foreshore and try to catch some clams.

Arnerault Beach

Arnerault Beach

Arnerault beach is located in Flotte en Ré. It is one of the few beaches on the north coast of Ré la Blanche and certainly one of the most beautiful. The beach is equipped with all the amenities of a seaside resort and is bordered by a pedestrian seafront. Its location is ideal because it is located a stone's throw from the port and the heart of the village of La Flotte.

Arnerault beach is perfect for children because the bay is sheltered and the sea is very calm. The 500 metres of fine sand are also monitored throughout the summer and the beach is cleaned daily. Not to mention that it is also certified as a Blue Flag.
